INJURED PLAYERS FUND

Establishing the IRUPA Injured Players Fund was a central objective of IRUPA and reflects the players commitment towards supporting those players who have had to depart from rugby or may have to in the near future due to injury or illness.  This will help enable them to readjust to a world beyond the playing of the game.

Injured Player

The fund is dependent on generous individual and corporate support at IRUPA events such as the annual end of season players' awards dinner. Whilst the rewards of playing top level rugby are extremely attractive, the precariousness of any career in sport is a continuous reminder of just how fortunate most players are.

Professional rugby playing careers are becoming shorter and shorter and it is critical that the Injured Players Fund grows.
